Once again you and your trio gave a spectacular performance yesterday afternoon (12-18-11). I am so very happy that I was there to enjoy it. Thank you. If I wasn't in the holiday mood, I certainly am now.

It was great to hear your live performance tonight as you both supported the Montgomery County Choral Society and performed your own brand of Musical Magic! Thanks for making the evening so special. (Love the shoes, no matter what Ann says!)

August 26, 2011

Rob, thank you for a great performance at Westbury Baptist Church August 16. Although the audience was small (50 adults), you were at your best. That day, you added more fans. Happy Birthday in September, Dolores Rieger (friend of Janet Davis).

Another great performance at WBC this morning. I was thinking back to when I was a kid and put my first music role into a player piano. I left the doors open so I could watch the roll being pulled over the air holes. I did not see how it was possible for a human being to be able to cut these rolls. After hearing you play many times I see now how very possible and wonderful that you and others can share your musical talents with us. Thanks again.

Rob, Joe, Bob....
a heartfelt thanks for your generous donation of your performance tonight, to benefit The Epiphany Church Echoes program....the gifts you shared with each of us tonight, uplifted us, recharged our weary souls, made our tired feet tap... and we hummed in our heads, and waltzed in our hearts.
Thanks for the gifts of live performance, and the excellence of your arrangements, presentations, and your welcoming smiles. You gave us laughter, you shared comfort...and above all, you shared love. There is no price for that....my heart is full of gratitude for your sharing. I hope you will join us again. I will sing your praises, and your songs, as I jiggle down the streets of Houston!
God Bless,
Your groupies in the front row.

Rob;
My wife Bobbye and I first heard your solo act at St. Thomas More and then heard your Trio at the 1894 Grand yesterday. My four grandchildren all take piano and I hope that their interest continues even if they just play at parties.
I lived on Fontenelle in Westbury from 1959 to 1964. We now live in Maplewood South.
Love your music!!

You know as a child learning from you, I never knew you were so famous! Looking forward to seeing you sometime soon!

I'm listening to these tidbits of music streaming on the website and it brings back such great memories. God surely gifted you when he filled you with music! How is it that you make a piano sound so alive when you play...you still amaze me.

Happy Holidays!

Hi Rob! I see here you are still doing well in Houston and in Music! I think of you and your grogeous music often and wish I could hear you playing all the way up to Dallas! I moved here about 6 years ago and love it. Patti lives here too and we live about 5 blocks apart, near SMU (Our Alma mater). Merry Christmas! Love ya, Donna

Just wanted to let you know my mom, Enola Garner, passed away Tues Nov 2, 2010 at the age of 91. You were such a joy to her, and THANK YOU for always calling her by name whenever we attended one of your concerts. Services pending at Forest Park Westheimer location, Fri Nov 5th. October 17, 2010

I met you when you played with The Irving Chorale. Again, what an amazing talent God has gifted you with. That was the most fun I've had at a concert in a long time. Thank you for coming and sharing.

October 13, 2010

Good morning Rob,
I'm not sure if the email I just wrote was submitted. Elsie Vanderhider was my dear friend and she treasured the notes you sent her. You are such a very thoughtful person. Her daughter, Marilyn, told me that you are planning a concert in her memory with donations going to the American Cancer Society. Once again a beautiful and thoughtful gesture on your part. Will you email me when you have ironed out the logistics because I certainly want to attend. I frequently attend your Sunday afternoon concerts at St. Luke's and am now one of your fans.
Last night I thought of you when I viewed the program I had recorded on PBS--Michael Feinstein's American Songbook. Like you, he sings and plays music one can hum, which is difficult to do with today's music.
Thank you for reading this.

Please change my mailing address for program announcements in your records. I have moved

Rob - Yesterday's concert at St. Luke's
was terrific. It made me cry - and that's
good. I brought 4 friends whose husbands served in WWII, and we all knew the words to every song - and loved every minute of it. You just get better. I missed my Sam, you were his favorite Gershwin guy.
I am so thankful for you and your incredible generosity and wit.
Stay safe and well.

Another great show today - see you on Oct 10 for the request show - they are such a treat. You have
"WOWED" the audience again with such great music and so many great songs from the past. Lady GaGa can stay in her own world - yours is better.

September 26, 2010

My wife & I were at the concert at St. Lukes Methodist Church. It was an afternoon we soon won't forget. I thought this kind of music had died. I've had 2 surgeries this year & all the stress just melted away as we lisened. Keep the wonderful music coming. Hope to see you again soon. We live in Montgomery County out by Lake Conroe.

Hi Rob

Your music is wonderful. Guess I need to buy a CD or 2. I know Mrs. Glossup is looking down from Heaven and is so proud of you and what you've down with your life and music. Keep on keeping on.

Guess you still have perfect pitch. You lucky dog.

What a wonderful day this was-your music was indeed God's Blessing to my heart. Your performance was outstanding but your wonderful sense of humor made the afternoon so memorable. As a member of Springs Woods UMC, thank you for donating your gift of music to our church.

Rob,

I would like to purchase your piece that is out of print ("No Words"). Is there a way that I could see a copy first to know how difficult it is?

Thank you.

August 16, 2010

Rob, I was putting together the release for VIC and noticed on your website you have spelled Tuts Ed arm wrong. (It is Humphreys School of Musical Theatre per their website not Humphries.) Just thought you might want to have that fixed. At least you have finished your website! So glad to see there is somewhere I can send people by Tweeting/Facebook now. If you have any updated bios or photo to send me, please do.

Loved the show in Glaveston last weekend but the request show in Brenham was fabulous - I'll Be Seeing You - my favorite - see you on July 16th at the next one.

March 20, 2010

Rob - Thoroughly enjoyed your extemporaneous renditions of familiar hymns preceding the funeral at St. Lukes UMC yesterday (3/19/10). The inventive chord progressions that didn't go where the listener expected them to go sounded just as correct as the traditional ones in most hymnals. I could listen to your style of play all day long.

Rob,
I certainly hope this is the Rob Landes I watched and talked to during the Fever Tree days. If so, I'm very glad to have found this site. Can't begin to tell you how many times I've see you and always wondered what happened to 'the Tree'.

Hi Rob,

I'm enjoying your latest CD which I received for my 79th birthday recently. Can't wait to add to my CD collection more of your music. Two of your former piano students will be delighted to know what's available also, namely Rob Blissard and my daughter Gaye Keller Henderson.

May 13, 2008

Enjoyed the concert in Brenham last night. You told the story of being 4 and meeting Tommy Dorsey but didn't know who he was. I had a similar experience when I was about 10. I was taking piano lessons from a pretty young woman named Sugie Burke in Webster. One day after a lesson, a man arrived to take her on a date. She introduced me to Mickey Gilley. I just said "Glad to meet you" and went home. I had no idea who he was.

Dear Rob,
On behalf of the children and board of the Houston Area Respite Center, please accept our heartfelt thank you for your fabulous performance last Sunday in support of HARC. February 13, 2008

Thank you, thank you for remembering to call my mother, Enola Garner, by name as you always do when we come to one of your concerts. You really made her day! Each time I bring her to see you, she goes on and on about you, Vesey, Vesette, Cecil Pickett and the years at Bellaire. Remember she actually made some of the outfits for 'fever tree'. Enola will be 89 this June, doesn't know what day it is, but knows your concert schedule! Tuesday, February 12 at the Centrum was wonderful as usual, and the crowd for a 3pm concert was amazing. Whether just you or the trio, I still find Gershwin my favorite venue. Oh, like the "new" brown look too. Much love and appreciation. JEM

Loved reading the article about you in the Chronicle. I am trying my best to find someone to take me to hear Sensations but probably will not have much success. Just want you to know that your music feeds MY soul every Sunday. I am so blessed that God gave me the ear to hear all of the modulations, chords, and nuances you add to the simplest of hymns and most difficult musical creations. I called the church and made reservations for the Yosts and for us for the Galveston concert. Then I found out that the first shower for David's bride-to-be will be that afternoon. I am sick about it. I'm not certain when the Yosts are coming, either. She just mentioned in a message that they would like to be here for your concert. Thank you again for all that you do for my soul (even when I am circling and circling trying to find a parking place in our new Courtyard of shops--I play your Ovations CD and don't get out of patience AT All!) Thanks for all that you do for my soul. Hope a CD of Sensations will be forthcoming. Peggy

Rob I dont know weather or not youre memory stretches this far but you and Fever Tree were living somewhere behind the drugstore in Lakewood Colo in about 1969 ,My friend whos father owned the store and myself worked there after High School and played in a local band and when you came in you were always pleasant and encouraging to talk with ,although we never experienced the kind of success Fever Tree had the highlight of my playing days came when we were the opening act for the Chambers Brothers in Chicago I just wanted you to know that you stood as a musical figure with no pretentious attitude and inspired me to become better at keyboards ,best wishes to you and I hope this rings a bell Gary

We were at the 1894 Grand March 4, what a pleasure it was hearing you again. We have been at all your performances in Galveston. Wouldn't miss them. See you there next year! Do you have a published future calendar? I want my grandson to hear you. Thanks again for the lovely afternoon at the Grand.

Larry Peterson

March 5, 2007

I was at your concert yesterday, 3/4/2007 and enjoyed it very much. I sang the words (in my head) to almost every song. When I was going to high school, I ushered in a movie theater that use to be an old vaudevile theater in Wichita, Kansas. That theater had to be modeled after the Grand in Galveston, right down to the 2 balconies and the box seats along the sides. In this theater, thru the movies that played there in the late 40's and early 50's, I heard 95% of all the Gershwin tunes that you played. Each movie played at least 100 times and sometimes more depending on the popularity. I had the dialog and the songs memorized for each movie by the time it ended its run. Your concert yesterday brought back some very fond memories of my youth.

Thank you very very much;
Larry Peterson

Enjoyed the concert last night at MDUMC.

Lori and I sang with the Houston Masterworks Chorus when you were helping out a couple (or 10?) years ago. We have always enjoyed the laid back way you present the music. It is such fun, and I suspect that you're having more fun than we are!!!!

Anyone that can work The Entertainer, Stardust and Some Enchanged Evening into the same medley(and on the spot) is alright in my book.

Thanks for sharing your joy in the music!
